Favorite Rockin' Christmas Songs

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - by Chrissie Hyndes 1987 - Chrissie has such a perfect voice for my favorite Christmas song. She puts a modern slant on this song.

"Run Rudolph Run" - by Keith Richards 1978 - I had help from Steve when picking this one. The guitar is pretty rockin' on it too.

"Baby Please Come Home" - by U2 Bono 1987- is very passionate in his singing of this song. Another favorite modern classic Christmas song.

"Christmas in Hollis" - by Run DMC 1987- I'm not a big rap fan but this song become popular when I lived in a fringe neighborhood in Long Beach. And rap was very popular at the time, even Snoop Dog lived in Long Beach. So I really liked this song at the time.

"Gabriel's Message" - By Sting 1987 - It sounds like chamber music. Sting has such an angelic voice for this Christmas carol.

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" - by Bruce Springstein 1975- I grew up listening to this song on the radio in the 70's. It was not officially Christmas until I heard Bruce's version of this Christmas song.

"Christmas Wrapping" - The Waitresses 1981- This would be considered a modern Christmas carol. This song was in such high rotation in the 80's.

"Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" - by Jack Johnson 2007 - Who could make a Christmas sound so hip but Jack. That sweet, relaxed vibe is all Jack. Rudolph never had it so good!

"It's Christmas Time" - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers 1992 -Tom puts his Rockin' slant on this Christmas song. His distinctive vocals and guitar makes it all Tom Petty!

"Do They Know it's Christmas" - Band Aid various artists 1984 - This collaboration is now a classic Christmas song. Here's a short list of participants: Sting, Bono, Paul Weller, Duran Duran, Boy George, George Michael and Paul Young.
