Love Songs You'll Love

"I'm Shakin'" - by The Blasters, This 1982 song reminds me of my sweet dating years in the 80's with my then boyfriend turned hubbie Steve. It was like our theme song. Here's some vital lyrics, "When you touch my hand and you talk sweet talk. I get a knocking in my knees and a wobble in my walk." Now that's what I call love.

"Wonderwall" - by Oasis, This 1995 song is so sweet and a major hit for this band. Here's some sweet lyrics, " I don't believe that anyone feels the way I do, about you now." Noel Gallagher kept it sweet and simple.

"Your Song" - by Sir Elton John, This great love song from 1970 is perfectly adoring. Probably one of my first favorite songs growing up. Check out some lyrics, "I hope you don't mind that I put it down in words. How wonderful life is while you are in this world. Your eyes are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen." There's some timeless lyrics.

"Elephant Ride" - by Squeeze, This obscure Squeeze love song from 1982 has a great melody and amazing lyrics. Here's some for you, "That protected seal of love, broken by the flame of fun. In the arms of lover's trust."

"Deacon Blues" - by Steely Dan, This mega hit in 1977 for Steely Dan is so romantic even hearing it now I feel the same way about this song when I first heard it on Aja, a favorite album of mine in '77. Here's some lyrics, " The essence of true romance. Sharing the things we know and love with those of my kind."

"Heart of Gold" - by Neil Young, Another huge hit but in 1970  for Neil, one of my hubbie's favorites. His great lyrics and melody chime through. Sample some lyrics, "I've crossed an ocean for a heart of gold. Keep me searching for a heart of gold." It's a long way to go for a heart of gold. It's worth it though.

"Sweet Child O' Mine" - by Guns N' Roses, This 1987 song helped Gn' R get to number 1 that year. Another major hit for the 80's. The lyrics say it all for this metal band's power ballad. "Now and then when I see her face, she takes me away to that special place...Oh sweet child O' mine"

"Isn't it Time" - by The Baby's, This sweet song came out in 1977 and it has memorable lyrics, "I feel a warmth in my heart, this love affair gives me strength, and my soul that I never knew."

"Wild Horses" - by The Rolling Stones, This love song came out in 1971, it's my husband's favorite band and they made a special song. Here's some lyrics, " You know I can't let you slide through my hands. Wild horses couldn't drag me away.

"Maybe, I'm Amazed" - by Sir Paul McCarthy, Beatles are known for their love songs, this 1970 one is included. "I'm amazed at the way you love me all the time...I really need you." It's the way this song is sung and delivered that makes it amazing.
