My Favorite Halloween Songs 2013

"Monster Mash" - Boris Pickett - 1962 My earliest memory of a Halloween song that was played at school and on the radio.

"Werewolves of London" - Warren Zevon - 1978 -During high school is song was very popular.

"Scary Monsters" - David Bowie - 1980- I've always loved Bowie but to hear him play this song live near Halloween at Neil Young's Bridge show was very cool!

"Deadman's Party" - Oingo Boingo - 1985 - I swear I went to a costume party during college and heard this song but by the date it must have been another Oingo Boingo song.

"Bad Moon Arising" - Credence Clearwater Revival -1985 - A great spooky song by CCR.

"Addam's Family Theme" - Vic Mizzy -1964 - I used to watch this tv show when I was a kid, it must of been the reruns.

"This is Halloween" - Danny Elfman - 1993 - This is a song from my hubbie's favorite Halloween movie called The Nightmare Before Christmas. And now it's my favorite too!

"Season of the Witch" - Donovan - 1966 - I like this song now and was not as familiar with it back in the 70's.

"I Put a Spell on You" - Screamin Jay Hawkins - 1969 - I can say the same thing about this song, it's on Halloween song lists now and know it now.

"Frankenstein" - Edgar Winter Group - 1972 My brother really liked this song because of the cool organ sound, I'm a fan too.

Uplifting Songs to get you to a higher ground.

"Brand New Day" by Sting - This song makes me think of second chances. Here's some lyrics," It could happen to you, just like it happened to me There's simply no immunity - there's no guarantee I say love's such a force,  if you find yourself in it."

"Elevation"- U2- Check out the lyrics." At the corner of your lips, As the orbit of your hips, Eclipse, You elevate my soul."

"Everyday is a Winding Road" - Sheryl Crow -  I've always loved this upbeat song. Here's some lyrics, "Everyday is a winding road, I get a little bit closer, Everyday is a faded sign, I get a little bit closer to feeling fine."

"Beautiful Day" - U2 - What a great song to hear on a beautiful day. - Check out the lyrics, "It's a beautiful day, Sky falls, you feel like, It's a beautiful day, Don't let it get away."

"I Want You to Want Me"- CheapTrick - Here's some lyrics," I want you to want me, I need you to need me, I'd love you to love me, I'm beggin' you to beg me."

"Can't get there from here" REM - Check out the lyrics,"I've been there I know the way. (Can't get there from here)."

"If it Makes You Happy" - Sheryl Crow - Here's some lyrics, "If it makes you happy, It can't be that bad, If it makes you happy, Then why the hell are you so sad." My hubbie Steve got me into this song. I agree if it makes you happy it's not that bad.

"On Top of the World" - Cheaptrick - Check out some lyrics, "On top of the world and you can't
Get any higher."

"Feel Alright" - Steve Earle - Here's some lyrics, "I feel alright – I feel alright tonight" My hubbie Steve also got me into this song.

"Have a Nice Day" - Stereophonics - Check out some lyrics, "Swim in the ocean, That be my dish." This is such an upbeat song.
